Laizer Beam and Her Projector Nights

Every now and then someone asks me to sketch something by hand instead of using the AI‑generated materials I normally create for my image albums. This time, the request was simple: draw Laizer Beam doing her thing. So I grabbed my pencils and sketched one of my favorite everyday scenes — my cat sitting in her spot, watching her projector cat‑game videos like she’s settling in for a private screening.

In the drawing, she’s perched on the floor, totally locked in on the glowing scene in front of her. The colors are soft and warm, the way the room feels when she settles in for her “showtime.” Outside the window, the trees and sky blend into this dreamy backdrop, almost like her imagination is spilling outward. The red streaks and beams give it that sci‑fi twist — because of course Laizer Beam would watch something dramatic.

This sketch wasn’t about perfection. It was about capturing her vibe: curious, calm, and completely invested in her little cinematic universe. It’s a moment I see every day, but putting it on paper made it feel like a story.

I spend a lot of time generating digital art for my albums, but there’s something different about slowing down and sketching a moment by hand — especially when it’s requested. Laizer Beam has her projector nights… and now she has her portrait too.

Fur Webs Has Arrived Sometimes a character tells you who they really are. When we first introduced Spider Cat, it was a working title that fit the original concept. But as the story grew, so did the character. The more we wrote, the more it became clear that this wasn't just a cat with spider abilities. He's a warehouse worker with seven opinionated tails, a talent for finding trouble, and a habit of solving problems in the most unexpected ways. So it's official... Spider Cat is now Fur Webs. The full in-universe title is: The Fur-Coated Web and the Seven Tails But, thanks to Dockhound doing what Dockhound does best, the nickname "Fur Webs" stuck—and everyone knows that's exactly what he'll keep calling him. This name captures the personality of the character far better than the original ever did. 🌊 LAIZER BEAM: TIDAL FREQUENCY An Interview with Surfer Beam The FYC Boardwalk Journal The boardwalk was unusually busy this afternoon. Apparently, word travels fast when a blue-gray cat disappears inside a massive wave, shoots through the barrel, and comes flying out the other side while everyone else on the beach is convinced the wave is about to collapse. We found Surfer Beam at Catch of the Day, still wearing her wetsuit, her modified surfboard leaning against the wall beside her. She was halfway through dinner. We asked if we could talk.
