We’re Changing Platforms: A New Chapter for Our Music
September 2026
We’re making a major change to how we create, produce, and preserve our music.
The reason is simple:
Suno changed its download policy.
Under the new policy, free users are limited to 7 downloads for the lifetime of the account. Commercial users are limited to 20 downloads per month.
For the way we create music, that changes everything.
💾 Creating Music vs. Keeping Music
Over the past several months, we've created a huge catalog of songs, experiments, soundscapes, and stories.
The problem isn't creating them.
The problem is getting them out of the platform and into our own offline catalog.
A lifetime limit of seven downloads means a free account can't realistically be used to archive an entire catalog.
And even with commercial access, 20 downloads per month isn't enough for a creator who is producing music at the pace we are.
We don't want our music catalog to exist only inside someone else's platform.
We want to download our finished work, store it locally, back it up, organize it, and have our own personal archive.
🎵 What Happens to the Existing Songs?
Unfortunately, many of the songs we've already created on Suno will now have to remain demos.
That's frustrating because some of those songs were intended to become part of our permanent catalog.
We have hundreds of creative ideas and generations behind the projects we've been developing. There simply isn't a practical way to download everything under the new limits.
So we're going to preserve what we can and treat the remaining Suno creations as demo versions and references.
Some may eventually be recreated elsewhere.
Some may never be reproduced.
But the ideas behind them aren't going anywhere.
🔄 We're Changing the Production Pipeline
Instead of relying on one platform for everything, we're changing our workflow.
We'll use platforms with generous generation limits for experimentation and testing, then use our chosen production platform for the versions we intend to keep.
Our new process will be:
Create → Experiment → Test → Refine → Finalize → Download → Archive
The final step is now a requirement, not an afterthought.
Once a song is finished, we want a copy in our own catalog.
🚀 The Stories Continue
This isn't the end of any of our projects.
The Dramática continues its journey.
The ambient soundscapes continue.
The Halloween and Christmas projects continue.
The warehouse stories continue.
And, of course, the Forklift Yacht Club universe continues finding increasingly ridiculous ways to turn ideas into music. 😂
We're changing the tools—not the stories.
🎧 Thank You, Suno
Suno has been an important part of our creative process.
We've been able to experiment with an incredible amount of music and discover ideas we probably wouldn't have found otherwise.
But the new download policy no longer fits the way we want to build a music catalog.
Seven lifetime downloads isn't an archive.
And 20 commercial downloads a month doesn't provide the flexibility we need.
So we're adapting.
The existing Suno catalog will become a collection of demos and creative references.
Going forward, we're building our final catalog somewhere that lets us actually keep the music we create.
New platform.
New workflow.
Same music.
Same stories.
More control over our catalog. 🎶🚀
