Incident: Unusual activity reported during Halloween night shift.

Management interviewed the pumpkin-helmet forklift operator as a witness.

Interviewer: Can you tell us what happened tonight?

Pumpkin Cat: Not really. Everyone's just been acting weird.

Interviewer: Weird how?

Pumpkin Cat: The twins were moving pallets again.

Interviewer: The twins?

Pumpkin Cat: Yeah. The skeleton guys.

Interviewer: Are they employees?

Pumpkin Cat: Yeah. Night crew.

Interviewer: What else did you see?

Pumpkin Cat: Vat Catula was over by the battery chargers.

Interviewer: And the pallet jack?

Pumpkin Cat: It was working.

Interviewer: By itself?

Pumpkin Cat: Yeah.

Interviewer: Does that seem unusual?

Pumpkin Cat: A little.

Interviewer: Anything else?

Pumpkin Cat: Nope.

Interviewer: Are you sure?

Pumpkin Cat: Pretty sure.

Interviewer: One final question. Do you know the names of the other night-shift employees?

Pumpkin Cat: Not really.

Interviewer: You don't?

Pumpkin Cat: We don't really talk about that stuff.

Apparently, word travels fast when a blue-gray cat disappears inside a massive wave, shoots through the barrel, and comes flying out the other side while everyone else on the beach is convinced the wave is about to collapse. We found Surfer Beam at Catch of the Day, still wearing her wetsuit, her modified surfboard leaning against the wall beside her. She was halfway through dinner. We asked if we could talk.
