Captain’s Log: When a Design Doesn’t Make the Cut Not every design makes it from the workbench to the store. During our hat testing process, we found a sample that didn’t meet the standard we wanted for the Forklift Yacht Club lineup. The logo placement wasn’t correct, and the text weight didn’t match the intended design. Instead of pushing it forward, we pulled it. Every hat, shirt, and piece of gear represents the brand, and we want every item that leaves the dock to look intentional. Sometimes that means stopping, correcting, and trying again. Behind every finished product is a process: testing prints, checking details, and making sure the final version is something we’re proud to put our name on. Failed samples don’t get hidden — they become part of the process that helps create better products. Quality control isn’t just about what we release.
