F.L.Y. Club Episode 3: “Reverse & Reward”
Episode 3: “Reverse & Reward”
The forklift sat under a flickering light, engine quiet… waiting.
Captain Whiskers paced. Bianca and Claudia watched the controls like students cramming before a test. Ducati lounged on a crate, pretending he already knew everything.
“We’ve seen the humans do it,” Whiskers said. “Forward. Lift. Lower.”
Claudia nodded. “There’s also… backing up.”
Everyone went quiet.
Ducati stretched. “How hard could reverse be?”
Silver Quickpaw, from the shadows: “Famous last words.”
The key turned.
The engine hummed alive again.
This time, Whiskers was focused. Careful. Determined.
“Okay… new rule,” he said. “We think before we paw.”
Bianca raised a paw. “What if thinking doesn’t help?”
“…Then we commit.”
Whiskers nudged the lever.
Nothing.
Another lever.
The forklift jerked slightly.
Then—
It started rolling backward.
“Oh! Oh we’re doing it!” Claudia shouted.
“Why does it feel faster?!” Bianca added.
Ducati twisted around, now facing the wrong direction. “I can’t see where we’re going!”
“Neither can I!” Whiskers yelled.
The forklift picked up a little speed. Not fast… but fast enough for cats who had no idea what reverse felt like.
“Turn! Turn!”
“I am turning!”
“You’re turning the wrong way!”
“I don’t know what the right way is!”
CLIP.
A soft but very real impact.
The forklift jolted to a stop.
Silence.
A pallet nearby had shifted. A box tipped… then another…
Then—
THUMP.
A can rolled across the floor.
Ducati’s ears snapped forward. “…Did you hear that?”
Another can rolled.
Clink.
Clink.
Clink.
Bianca hopped down first. Slowly. Carefully.
She sniffed. Froze. Then her eyes went wide.
“…Guys.”
Claudia joined her. Same reaction.
“…No way.”
Ducati didn’t wait. He dove straight into the fallen box and emerged with a can, hugging it like treasure.
“TUNA.”
Everything changed instantly.
The crew swarmed the pallet. Boxes cracked open under eager paws. The smell filled the warehouse like a victory anthem.
Whiskers stood frozen for a second… then smiled.
“We… discovered inventory.”
Silver Quickpaw stepped forward, amused. “By crashing into it.”
“Strategically,” Ducati corrected, mouth full.
Bianca looked back at the forklift.
“So… reverse is dangerous.”
Claudia nodded. “But also… profitable.”
Whiskers flicked his tail, proud despite everything.
“Then we learn it properly.”
He looked at the forklift. Then at the tuna. Then back at his crew.
“Because if this is what happens when we mess up…”
Ducati popped another can.
“…imagine what happens when we get good.”
The forklift idled behind them.
The pallet sat half-destroyed.
The secret was out.
The warehouse had tuna.
And the Forklift Yacht Club had just found its reason to come back.
