Upcoming Albums: New Flights, New Storms, and More Cat Chaos
The next wave of albums is already taking shape, and we're heading somewhere a little different this time.
One of the biggest upcoming projects is Laizer Air Lines: Lyra-9 Turbulence Report, a two-part story following a passenger flight from Exit 9 Airport to Pawpoint as an ordinary trip turns into an encounter with Storm Lyra-9.
Part One begins right where every flight should: takeoff.
Passengers get the usual safety briefing, the seat belt sign eventually goes off, and everything seems perfectly normal. Well… as normal as an airline operated by anthro cats can be.
Laizer's safety announcement includes some very specific airline policies, including a warning that tail restraints are available for passengers who can't refrain from flicking other passengers.
Then the weather changes.
Part One will move from the relaxed flight into turbulence, followed by the passengers' increasingly chaotic reactions and, finally, the crew's perspective as they realize they're dealing with something much bigger than ordinary turbulence.
Part Two will pick up with the descent, the flight through Lyra-9, the approach to Pawpoint, and finally the landing.
The goal is to make the album feel less like a collection of songs and more like being onboard the flight — complete with announcements, cabin sounds, crew communications, onboard music, and a few situations Laizer probably wishes weren't being recorded.
And that's only one of the upcoming projects.
We're continuing to expand the wider Laizer Beam universe, with stories exploring different corners of her world, different jobs, different vehicles, and occasionally the consequences of putting Laizer in charge of something that probably should have come with more supervision.
We're also continuing work on the other album projects currently in development, including the Aisle Blue stories and additional character-driven albums.
Some of these projects are still being tuned. Part of the process has been figuring out exactly how much music, dialogue, sound design, and character performance each story needs. Rather than rushing them out, we're taking the time to get the format right.
The upcoming albums will continue pushing that combination of music, comedy, storytelling, and radio-play style production.
So buckle up.
Laizer Air Lines will be boarding soon.
And if your tail is within reach of another passenger…
You have been warned.
